Round Hair Brushes — Ceramic, Thermal & Boar Bristle, Made in Our Guangzhou Factory
A round hair brush is the one tool that decides whether a blowout holds or falls flat, which is why barrel material and bristle construction matter far more than they appear to on a product listing. Mackay manufactures 56 round brush styles across 7 barrel diameters — 19mm, 25mm, 32mm, 43mm, 53mm, 65mm and 80mm — from the precision brush used for bangs and fringe work to the extra-wide barrel that smooths long, thick hair in a single pass.
Every style is produced in-house: barrel forming, coating, bristle planting, finishing and packaging all happen under one roof, which is why the sample you approve is what arrives in your container.
Ceramic & Ionic Round Brushes
Our ceramic round brush range uses a nano-ceramic coated barrel that absorbs heat from your dryer and releases it evenly across the whole surface, eliminating the hot spots that scorch hair at the root. Ionic bristle formulations pair naturally with ceramic barrels: negative ions help close the cuticle faster, so the same result takes less total heat exposure. This combination is the reason ceramic ionic round brushes have become the default in professional salons — and it is our single largest product group, with dedicated ceramic round brushes in every barrel size we make.
Thermal Round Brushes
A thermal round brush works by conduction, not by electricity. The aluminium or ceramic-coated barrel captures the airflow from your dryer, holds that heat in the barrel, and sets the hair shape from the inside of the section as well as the outside — which is what shortens drying time and makes the curl hold longer. There are no cords, no heating elements and no electrical components in any brush we manufacture. We also produce heat-reactive colour-changing barrels that shift shade at around 75°C, giving stylists a visual cue that the barrel has reached working temperature.
Boar Bristle & Mixed Bristle Round Brushes
A boar bristle round brush does something no synthetic can replicate: the natural bristle grips the cuticle and draws scalp oils down the hair shaft, which is why boar-bristle blowouts stay smooth and shiny for days rather than hours. Pure boar suits healthy, fine-to-medium hair. Mixed boar-and-nylon is the more forgiving configuration — the nylon pins penetrate and detangle the section while the boar bristles follow and seal it, making it the most versatile option for a retail line serving mixed hair types. For thick or coarse hair we recommend heat-resistant nylon: standard PA66 handles up to 220°C, and premium PA46 up to 285°C for markets using high-wattage dryers.

Barrel Sizes: 19mm to 80mm
Barrel diameter should follow hair length, not preference. As a working guide: 19–25mm for bangs, fringe and short hair; 32–43mm for medium lengths, lobs and everyday blowouts; 53–80mm for long or thick hair where the goal is smoothing and body rather than curl. The four sizes that account for most salon orders worldwide are 25mm, 32mm, 43mm and 53mm — if you are building a first collection, that set covers the majority of your customers. Our round brush size chart breaks down all seven diameters by haircut and result, and we supply complete sizing kits for brands offering a full professional range.
OEM, ODM & Private Label
Every round brush in this collection is available for customization: Pantone colour matching, custom logo printing (pad print, heat transfer, laser engraving, 3D water transfer), handle material selection in ABS, rubber grip, natural wood or bamboo, and retail-ready private label packaging with barcode and FBA labelling. MOQ starts at 300 pieces per style for stock designs and 500 pieces for custom configurations. With 1,500+ existing molds and 18 years of manufacturing experience, most brands launch without paying for tooling at all. Whether you are sourcing professional blowout brushes for a salon chain, developing a private label round brush line for a DTC brand, or looking for the right brush for bangs styling, we can quote from an existing mold this week. Every barrel diameter in this collection goes through the same inspection sequence — read how round brush quality control is run here, and what we test tuft retention against.
Round Hair Brush FAQ
What is a thermal round brush, and does it plug in?
No — a thermal round brush has no cord, no heating element and no electrical parts. The barrel is made of aluminium or ceramic-coated metal that captures and holds heat from your hair dryer, then transfers it evenly to the section wrapped around it. The heat always comes from the dryer; the brush simply stores and distributes it, which is what makes drying faster and the resulting shape hold longer.
What is the difference between a ceramic and a boar bristle round brush?
They solve different problems. A ceramic round brush distributes dryer heat evenly across the barrel, which builds volume and curl quickly and suits thick or coarse hair. A boar bristle round brush grips the cuticle and moves natural oils along the hair shaft for maximum shine and smoothness, which suits fine or frizz-prone hair. Mixed boar-and-nylon brushes combine both behaviours and are the safest choice for a retail line serving every hair type.
What sizes do your round hair brushes come in?
Seven barrel diameters: 19mm, 25mm, 32mm, 43mm, 53mm, 65mm and 80mm. The 25mm–53mm range covers the majority of salon and retail demand. Complete sizing kits are available for brands that want to offer a full professional collection.
How do I choose the right round brush size for my customers?
Match barrel to hair length: 19–25mm for bangs and short hair, 32–43mm for medium-length blowouts and curl, 53–80mm for long hair volume and smoothing. Smaller barrels create more curl and root lift; larger barrels smooth faster with a softer bend. Our round brush size chart gives the full breakdown by haircut.
Which bristle should I specify for high-heat markets?
Standard PA66 nylon is rated to 220°C and is sufficient for most consumer dryers. For markets where 2,000W+ professional dryers are common, specify PA46 premium nylon, rated to 285°C — it costs slightly more per unit but eliminates the bristle-softening complaints that come back from professional users.
What is the MOQ for custom round brushes?
300 pieces per style for stock designs selected from our 1,500+ existing molds, and 500 pieces per style for fully customized OEM/ODM orders with custom mold, bristle configuration, colour and packaging.
Can I customize the bristle type and handle material?
Yes. We offer eight bristle configurations (PA66 nylon, PA46 premium nylon, natural boar, mixed boar-nylon and others) and 50+ handle designs in ABS, rubber grip, natural wood and bamboo, with full Pantone matching and custom logo printing included.
Do you offer private label round brushes with custom packaging?
Yes — end-to-end private label service covering custom mold design, Pantone colour matching, logo printing, retail packaging design, barcode allocation and FBA-ready labelling. See our complete customization guide for the full process.
